Dear Members of the Press Fraternity, Friends and Supporters,

On December 9, 2015, I had posted the following note on Facebook, Twitter and other social medias available to me, announcing that I was now seriously considering fighting the upcoming Khadoor Sahib by-elections, if they were to happen. I had solicited comments, suggestions and advice but more importantly made an effort to initiate a participatory political discourse. Subsequently, and for which I will always be grateful to every singly well-wisher who has been a part of this intense churning process in which each possible and conceivable aspect in regard to the by-election was debated and mulled over, I am honoured to invite you all to join me for the press conference at the Press Club, Sector 27, Chandigarh, later today – that is, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 3:30PM.

In the presence of several supporting groups, community elders, activist colleagues and friends, I will formally announce my candidature as an Azad Ummeedwar (independent candidate).
