Devotion
Devotion’s like
a mother so kind
who like the sun
cares for all her children
incapable of looking
at their dark
doting on
their bright sides
making them dance
swirl in joy
bathing their pains
forlornness away
So humble so blind
lies she basks
in their glory
not her wards
in hers!
Devotion isn’t anything like
deciding to drink to be drunk
it is neither being honked
nor being hungover.
Devotion is more than a dawn when it rises
It’s more than the dusk when it sets.
Devotion is like Sun’s helplessness
in his urge to churn & burn
& in being silent ever after.
