the chicken which laid golden eggs
Then there was another story: Of a man who had a chicken which laid a golden egg a day. But then the “owner” had a dream —a vision of a gold mine inside the chicken. He motivated himself and drank a lot of hatred and spewed a lot of venom on the chicken and even blackmailed her to lay more than an egg a day. She could not so he abused the poor chicken, threatened her and in the end, butchered her. Alas, the owner had a dead chicken as inheritance but no gold mine!
Humility is hard earned. Sarcasm doesn’t take much. Poison is available for free and so is wisdom and even good advice.
A sage has either, or even both of the later two, the fool the former.
We, the lesser mortals, could only bear witness!
